MAR10224 – Certificate I in Maritime Operations (General Purpose Hand Near Coastal)

Participants will gain foundational skills for assisting with deck and engine room operations, performing basic maintenance, and responding to emergencies at sea. The program also provides essential training in workplace health and safety, fire safety, survival at sea, and first aid.

This qualification supports seafarers seeking AMSA certification as a General Purpose Hand Near Coastal. Certification requires:

• Completion of the MAR10224 Certificate I in Maritime Operations
• Completion of qualifying sea service on a commercial vessel as specified in Marine Order 505
• Holding a current First Aid certificate

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, making it suitable for those starting their maritime career.
