Course Description

Participants will develop competencies in engine room management, vessel stability, propulsion systems, electrical and auxiliary machinery, environmental practices, and emergency procedures. The course also includes critical safety training, including survival at sea, fire management, and first aid.

This qualification aligns with requirements for AMSA certification under Marine Order 505 (MO505). To achieve certification, seafarers must:

  • Complete the MAR40224 Certificate IV in Maritime Operations
  • Complete qualifying sea service as specified in MO505
  • Meet medical fitness requirements
  • Pass the AMSA final assessment
  • Hold a current first aid certificate

Completion of this course prepares participants for professional roles in engine room management and supports safe, efficient vessel operations in compliance with regulatory standards.
