The MAR20321 Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswains Grade 1 Near Coastal) is a comprehensive training program designed to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate vessels as a Coxswain Grade 1 in near coastal waters. This course is specifically tailored for individuals seeking entry-level employment or career advancement in the maritime industry.
Throughout this course, students will gain a solid understanding of the key concepts and practical aspects of maritime operations, focusing on coxswain responsibilities, vessel handling, navigation, and safety procedures. Participants will learn how to effectively operate and control vessels up to 12 meters in length within specified limits, near coastal waters, and inshore areas.
The curriculum encompasses a range of core topics, including maritime regulations, emergency response, communication protocols, basic meteorology, and environmental sustainability. Students will also receive training in conducting routine maintenance, managing vessel stability, and providing effective customer service.
Practical training forms a significant component of this course, with ample opportunities for students to develop their skills through hands-on experience.
