LICENCE TO OPERATE A SLEWING MOBILE CRANE (UP TO 100 TONNES) – TLILIC4010 *subsidised training being available through CSQ for eligible workers in the Building & Construction Industry and that potential students should contact the office for more details.

Entry Requirements: While there are no specific entry requirements to enrol in this unit of competency, Training and Personnel Australia requires that learners are at least 16 years of age at time of enrolment and have 100 points of valid identification. In order to undertake the assessment process, learners must be at least 18 years of age.

In addition, students must complete an LL&N assessment. Students who do not achieve a satisfactory result (at least 50% in each of the literacy and numeracy), may still be enrolled into the course provided that enrolment has been endorsed by the trainer and corresponding additional support strategies have been put in place prior to the commencement in any training.

Delivery mode: Face to face in simulated work environment at the TPA training premises. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available (please reference student handbook for this information).

Duration: 6 days (based on 10hr days). Includes completion of all theory and practical learning and assessment.

Learning resources the RTO will provide the learner: All learning material is supplied by TPA at no cost. Costs are incurred for replacements (please reference student handbook for this information) This includes: Learner Guides, Logbooks, Assessments, Pens, and Paper.

Product Description

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a slewing mobile crane with a capacity up to 100 tonnes.

This unit applies to the activities of a person operating a slewing mobile crane with a capacity up to 100 tonnes that is a:

  • Non-slewing mobile crane with a capacity exceeding 3 tonnes
  • Reach stacker
  • Slewing mobile crane with a capacity of 100 tonnes or less
  • Vehicle loading crane with a capacity of 10 metre tonnes or more, excluding the application of load estimation and slinging techniques to move a load.

A person performing this work is required to hold a slewing mobile crane with a capacity up to 100 tonnes high risk work (HRW) licence.
